Water With more than 3,200 Water professionals in all major markets throughout the United States and Canada, AECOM's Water business line leverages nearly a century of local, national and international project experience to provide today's municipalities, industries and governments with cost-effective solutions to their Water challenges. We deliver our services-from environmental planning studies to detailed design, construction management, and operations and maintenance-to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Our public sector work encompasses everything from small rural communities to large urban centers, to agencies with regional responsibilities. Our private sector work includes assignments for multiple commercial/industrial sectors, including oil and gas, chemicals, power, food and beverage, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. AECOM has an immediate need for a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager with experience in Water/Wastewater in our Orange, California office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures and development of technical memorandums and design reports. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests; able to identifies discrepancies in results and provide solutions. Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Provides guidance to entry level engineers. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Provides budgetary and leadership support to Project Manager with an objective to become a Project Manager in near future. Minimum Requirements BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of experience on water, wastewater and water resource projects. Master's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water/wastewater. Registered Professional Engineer licensed in CA and/or other nearby states, or ability to obtain within one year of employment. Proven experience developing engineering deliverables such as engineering reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and other detailed engineering deliverables. Demonstrated technical skills and experience working on wastewater, water, water resources or flood protection/resilience projects. Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing Software platforms of interest include InfoWater, WaterCAD, InfoSWMM, InfoWorks CS, XP SWMM, SewerGEMS, PC SWMM, Mouse, Mike Urban and ESRI's ARC Map. Storm drain, water, or sewer mater plan experience a plus. Strong presentation skills with business development experience; client focused service perspective is highly preferred Municipal engineering design and construction experience Additional Information: This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
