We are currently hiring a ITS and Traffic Design Engineer to design ITS and traffic control devices for nearby public agencies.

Responsibilities:

• As a member of our traffic team, design traffic control devices such as traffic signals, highway signing, pavement markings, and lighting for roadway and pedestrian facilities.
• Design Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices such as CCTV cameras, dynamic message signs, traffic data sensors, and roadway weather information stations.
• Design power and communications for ITS systems, system control designs for communication media, and transmission and receiver equipment
• Project Assignments can range from small traffic control device designs to complex ITS deployments such as Active Traffic Management (ATM) and ramp metering systems.
• Work closely and effectively with contract teammates, customers, and various other stakeholders
• Candidates should be familiar with development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and coordination with power and telecommunication companies.

Requirements:

• Three (3)- Eight (8) years of experience designing ITS and traffic control devices
• Project Engineer (P.E.) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
• Proficiency in design of signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, CCTV cameras, weather information systems, dynamic message signs, traffic data sensors, and connected vehicle RSU equipment
• Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or related discipline
• Must be familiar with the development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and coordination with power and telecommunications companies.
• MicroStation, AutoCAD, design experience
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, NEC

Preferred:

• Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)

Requirements:

• Project Engineer (P.E.) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
