Description:

Our client is looking for a Project Engineer to support some of their influx projects. Ideal candidates would have some experience in this suite of projects: manufacturing, R&D, defense, industrial, pharma. They will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project from pre-con to completion. Responsible for schedule/budget/subcontractor selection. The Project Manager works side-by-side with the Field Superintendent in delivering construction projects. The Project Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations. The Project Manager's duties include all those duties necessary to deliver a complete project via delivery methods including the CM-at-Risk, General Contractor, and Design/Build methods.

These duties include but are not limited to: customer relations, financial management of the project, development and management of subcontractor scopes of work (in conjunction with the Field Superintendent), vendor procurement, development of subcontracts, analysis of changes in the work, coordination of documents, proactive analysis of the sequence of the work (including from a contracting and procurement perspective), "best value" analysis, planning and phasing duties, scheduling, interfacing with the design team, coordination of commissioning, closeout, and warranty items, and overall leadership of the project. Although responsibilities for execution of the work in the field remain with the Field Superintendent, the Project Manager shares responsibility for adherence to safety policies, quality control standards, and craftsmanship expectations. In summary, the role demands leadership, foresight, and all those qualities needed to successfully deliver complete projects. On certain projects, the Project Manager can be expected to participate in Preconstruction Services which will vary from project to project and may include budgeting, scheduling, phasing/sequencing planning, constructability reviews, value analysis/value engineering, cost-benefit analysis, alternatives analysis, and other tasks. The Project Manager may be assigned to one project requiring a 100% commitment, or multiple smaller projects, as appropriate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-The Project Engineer must have at least five (1) year experience in the role of construction Project Engineer for projects similar to those our client constructs. Recent experience in this role on projects in Maryland is a plus

• Fluency in Microsoft WordTM, ExcelTM, and OutlookTM is a requirement for this position

• Experience working with specialized construction software, such as TimberlineTM, E-BuilderTM, Vela/BIM 360TM, and other similar software is a plus

• Experience in the Construction Management-at-Risk delivery method is a strong plus - the ideal candidate shall also have demonstrated experience in construction estimating

• Achievement of a higher education degree is a plus, but is not a requirement for this position - achievement of a four-year equivalent or higher degree in a related field, such as engineering, construction management, architecture, etc. is also a plus
