Job Description We are currently seeking a Project Engineer I/II to join our Stormwater Management Group in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: Work with internal team and clients on drainage and flooding issues and coastal resiliency, BMP retrofits, and TMDL and MS4 programmatic requirements Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs Provide engineering assistance for the design of: drainage improvement projects, best management practices (BMPs); low impact development (LID) solutions; urban retrofit alternatives; and other stormwater and resilient infrastructure related projects Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums to convey project results to our clients Prepare specifications materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff
