The Project Engineer (PE) provides chemical/mechanical engineering needed to deliver custom High Temperature Fluidized Bed (HTFB) Biosolids treatment systems to municipal customers. Working on a multi-disciplinary team, the PE ensures accuracy of design, timeliness of submittals, adherence to budget, and compliance with our quality procedures.

As PE, within the project engineering team, you have broad responsibility to develop engineering deliverables and coordinate with a project team. Led by the Lead Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete design documents in concert with Process, Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls engineers, as well as various project support functions (Document Control, Sourcing, Finance, etc.)
  • The PE works in a highly technical role; generating, checking or approving Process & Instrument Diagrams, equipment drawings, equipment datasheets, plant and piping arrangements, and design specifications.
  • The role will support vendor selection through technical bid evaluations; equipment fabrication; managing vendor documents; and ensure our suppliers are on track and performing.
  • The role will maintain project schedule and document reporting for the Lead Engineer.
  • The PE act as a technical customer contact, participating in project status updates, design reviews, installation support and commissioning supervision.

The PE requires a strong engineering foundation and is skilled at working across teams, communicating complex ideas and integrating systems. They are thoughtful, cooperative and creative, able to handle multiple shifting demands with professionalism and good judgement.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering field - Chemical, Mechanical, Biological Civil/Structural or Electrical preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience on Biosolids Incineration or similar

Desired:
  • Possess a working knowledge of basic process equipment such as pumps, valves, instruments, blowers, Heat Exchangers, also equipment more specific to the incineration process to include natural gas feed and burner systems, furnace, stack, CEMS, and Air Pollution Control Equipment (Scrubbers, etc).
  • Familiarity with Heat and Mass Balance and thermal Calculations.
  • Experience with Municipal & Industrial processes and system engineering - direct experience in water treatment, Biosolids, Food Waste, Food & Beverage preferred but not required .
  • Impeccable planning, organization and time management.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Clear, concise communication skills.
  • Team player, with the ability to exercise good judgement under changing conditions.
  • Fluency in French may be useful.
  • The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
