Description:
We are seeking a Project Engineer for its Arizona High-Tech operations based in Chandler, AZ. This individual will assist the project team with daily duties for High-Tech commercial construction projects and is responsible for the following duties:
Job Duties
• Review project plans and proposals, and work with management to develop project objectives
• Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine project specifications and present cost estimates
• Review contractor bids
• Through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, oversee and coordinate the technical aspects of the project
• Prepare status reports and regularly monitor schedules
• Maintain an accurate record of all elements of the project via an electronic database
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications
• Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements
• Read drawings and prepare take-offs
• Prepare, submit, and track RFIs and submittals
• Generate and track all change orders
• Track and log all drawings
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to ensure project success
• Inform safety managers, superintendents, and/or appropriate supervisors of any safety violations and/or injuries immediately
• Establish annual continuing education goals to improve performance and proficiency in construction project management
• Collect closeout documentation and prepare turnover O&M manuals to Owner

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or other construction-related fields of study preferred
• 1+ years relevant work or internship experience, knowledge of general contracting a plus
• This is a safety-sensitive position; the candidate must complete and pass a B/G check and a ten-panel/alcohol testing
• Reliable transportation, valid Driver's License, and favorable driving record
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organization and time management skills
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Timberline, PlanGrid, P6, Microsoft Scheduler, Microsoft Outlook, and/or Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of preconstruction phase, bidding/estimating, accounting, risk management, safety, budget control, schedule control, submittals, RFIs, and change order processes
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between construction and design teams
Want someone ideally from a general contractor or subcontractor. Don't really like people from some of the bigger firms - Kitchell, Sundt, for example - because they don't have experience in day to day activities.
