Job Description:
The client is seeking an experienced junior or senior engineer to join our Valves and Actuators team in the Project and Component Engineering department in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area). You will join a team working on the development, fabrication and test of propulsion system valve and actuator hardware.

Job Responsibilities: Under general direction, the Project Component Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.

• 25%: Development and fabrication support of rocket engine valve and actuator components. Translates engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.
• 25%: Supplier integration with external suppliers ensuing requirements are achieved on time and within budget.
• 20%: Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to provide coordination of technical, schedule and cost solutions to team objectives.
• 20%: Analyzes and verifies valve & actuator design and performance for adequacy and reliability. Supports investigation and resolution of hardware and process anomalies and issues identified by preventative action/corrective action boards or safety initiative activities.
• 10%: Develops trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component-level test plans.

Job Skills:

• Experience with rocket propulsion systems desired.
• Understanding and use of analytic, design or process procedures pertinent to aerospace valve and actuator advanced development.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, develop planning and procedures for assembly and test; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; effective presentation and report writing skills will be required.
• Project skills in developing MS Project scheduling and Earned Value Measurement Systems is a plus.
• May require the use of engineering test equipment, CAD (CREO), and/or various computer systems.
• Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work effectively with external suppliers.
• Demonstrated leadership skills are highly desirable.

Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field plus three (3) years of related experience in design and project management of mechanical and fluid handling systems and components required.

Travel: Estimated of 2 business travel trips, 3 days each within US
