Product Security Engineer (Lead or Senior)

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer.

The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Product Security Engineering Capability is seeking an expert technical leader for the BDS Product Security Engineering (PSE) Capability. The BDS Product Security Engineering team is responsible for the cybersecurity and cyber resiliency of our BDS products and services. BDS is a global leader in the development, production, maintenance and improvement of fixed-wing, and rotary-wing aircraft, commercial and government satellites, human space flight programs, weapons and more.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing a breadth of knowledge of the product portfolio, threat landscape, industry and customer awareness along with your strong cyber technical competence. You will help to ensure the BDS Product Security Engineering team is ready and able to deliver secure and resilient products and services to our customers. You will be the champion for Product Security Engineering technical excellence across BDS Program and Engineering teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring engineering integrity, first time quality and efficient execution of Product Security activities on all BDS programs through the Gated Process and active participation in major program achievements.

  • Actively partner with programs and people to ensure technical performance for BDS programs.

  • Provide technical guidance and consultation supporting Incident Response and Vulnerability Management and other technical risk assessment activities and related processes.

  • Establishing BDS strategy and implementation plans that leverage Product Security internal R&D investments including Digital Engineering to further develop BDS Product Security technical capabilities.

  • Actively partnering with Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Global Services, Boeing Research and Technology and Boeing Test and Evaluation Product Security Engineering teams

  • Leverage and benefit from experience in critical thinking, program planning, organization and execution, proposals, multi-discipline engineering & analysis.

  • Leverage communication experience and skills to Influence leadership, partners, and other groups

  • Planning and leading the execution of multi-discipline engineering related activities in team environments

  • Understanding and experience in systems, test and/or software engineering, including:

    1. System and System of Systems Integration, Verification and Validation

    2. Testing, including Acceptance and Fielding Testing

    3. Military Flight Certification and Federal Aviation Administration Certification activities

Workplace:

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel:

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or Internationally depending on business needs.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience

  • 10+ years of experience with Cybersecurity, anti-tamper and/or secure computing and knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) policies and requirements related to Cybersecurity

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or another related technical field

  • Top Secret clearance

  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering and test and evaluation engineering

  • Experience working directly with customers to solve complex problems and define requirements

  • Experience working within the DoD Risk Managed Framework (RMF) and other government and industry cybersecurity standards

Typical Education/Experience:

Lead Engineer Level

Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Senior Engineer Level

Bachelor's degree and typically 20 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 18 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 15 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for Lead Engineer Level: $175,950 - $238.050

Summary pay range for Senior Engineer Level: $207,400 - $280,600
