Job Overview
The Product Research Leader is a newly created role with Multi-materials system (MMS) that directly supports our enterprise strategy, focused on expanding our addressable market in the building and construction markets. This role is responsible for product research of MMS designs and products, including working with R&D and other cross-fuctions teams to have an intimate knowledge of our products and systems, connect with external partners and stakeholders to deepen our understanding of end-users,and identify unmet needs and opportutnies to innovate and differentiate. The MMS Product Research Leader will play a key role in the R&D core team and OC Innovation network, supporting the development of key capabilities in to accelerate innovation and growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research to inform MMS product development and validate market acceptance of product designs.
- Design and execute end-to-end research using a variety of research methods, including:designing recruiting parameters and method, executing on research, and analyzing qualitative and quantitive data.
- Work with the MMS team to identify critical research questions and implement user-centered research methods that translate to features and design.
- Generate insights that define functions, features, and benefits of new products solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
- Generate insights to influence product IP strategy to maximize value of innovation for OC.
- Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in a clear, actionable, and compelling way
- Effectively manage and prioritize research plans in ambiguous environments, considering rigor, timeline, and impact.
- Enable right team culture and peer development though coaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of organizational capabilities.
- Continue to grow and stay current on key discipline and ensure that the team continues to develop their technical capability.
- Encourage partnership and collaboration across people and teams to maximize performance.
- Identify key strategic partnerships for executing on product research initiatives to streamline work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of product research, user experience (UX) research, or research in an applied setting; physical product research preferred
- Travel 40%
- Expert in research methods, such as surveys, experimental design, user testing, interviews, focus groups etc.
- Strong understanding of various research methodologies, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Advanced degree in research, psychology, social sciences, human factors, HCI, or other related field is preferred, but not required
- Research experience in Building and Construction industry is preferred
- Demonstrated passion and capability to collaborate with and enable cross-functional team.
- Excellent communication skills in delivering and translating insights into product and feature designs.
- Experience managing relationships and being a point of contact for customer relationships
