As a Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Working on projects to develop new products and solutions to meet customer needs.
- Discussing technical subjects internally and externally to resolve product issues.
- Reviewing and submitting ideas to obtain patents.
- Leading small-scale projects to deliver successful outcomes for our customers.
- Planning and executing on assignments with general objectives.
- Reviewing progress and evaluating results with teams and project leaders.
- Operating with some latitude in making autonomous decisions.
- Recommending changes in procedures.
- Handling special projects, as assigned.
- Providing work direction and mentoring for less experienced engineers and technicians.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years experience, or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ yrs experience.
- Intermediate technical skills including CAD (Unigraphics NX preferred), CFD and FEA.
- Knowledge of oilfield drill bits with a background in roller cone bit design.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently. Intermediate problem solving and project management skills.
- Good organizing, planning, and presentation skills.
- Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and customer focused with a drive for results.
- Ability to manage time, make quality decisions, and manage and measure work.
