Job Overview
The Coated Products Operations consists of three manufacturing plants, four Slitting and Distribution Centers, and a majority interest partnership in Mexico. The CPO manufactures pressure sensitive label stock, utilizing a variety of face stock, adhesive and release liner combinations. Product capabilities include an expanded film line, as well as traditional paper, foil and thermal offerings. The Coated Products facility in Green Bay completed a major expansion, making this plant a state-of-the-art facility. The expansion has doubled the size of this plant, and includes a new building, Coater, Slitters and Automated Sequencing System.
Position Overview:The Process Improvement Manager will lead a team focused on initiatives to optimize our technologies and manufacturing processes, including coating, drying, web handling, slitting, material handling, and packaging. Responsibilities also include capital project management at all Coated Products facilities, including ideation, cost justification, design, scheduling, contractor interfacing, installation, start-up, debugging, and training.
Responsibilities:• Leading the Process Improvement team, consisting of Process and Project Engineers and Technicians, including setting expectations and providing performance feedback.
• Providing process improvement methodology, technical support, coaching, and training to team members and associates.
• Building a pipeline of projects aimed at improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost. Identifying opportunities to reduce risk in manufacturing operations.
• Collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Technical, IT, and Procurement to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting product quality and production efficiencies.
• Leading change initiatives in support of the division business objectives.
• Justifying new equipment and modifications to existing equipment to ensure manufacturing capabilities, capacity, and cost objectives are met.
• Staying abreast of new technologies to support continuous improvement objectives.
• Utilization of process data and statistical analysis to drive decisions and priorities.
• Documenting and reporting on team progress on critical initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science field
• 5 years in manufacturing or process engineering role, plus 3 years of team leadership experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, development, and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across all departments and with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of statistical methods. Six Sigma and Lean training are a plus.
• Experience with PLCs, drives, and other process controls desired.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, with label stock or packaging technologies preferred.
• Limited travel may be required, domestic and/or international.
