I like to call this company the biggest company nobody has ever heard of. Part of why nobody I talk to has heard of them is because technically, they arent in the chemicals industry. Second, they are family-owned (private), not publicly-traded. In reality, they are a $3B company with 6,000+ employees around the world. Their HQ is in the Lexington area and I placed their Director of Engineering and their Director of Project Engineering a few years ago. This is the story of a company that grew so fast, that many of the systems that you would expect to see within a company this size just werent there. The two engineers Ive placed have been helping get this company to where they need to be, systems-wise, in order to support an organization of their size. The next key cog is implementing and championing a six-sigma program. This role will support 5 manufacturing facilities, helping to develop and implement six-sigma practices and procedures within this plant. Along with that comes educating and advocating for change with people at the plant-level, as well as people on the executive team, and everyone in between. In addition to that this person will also support capital projects as this company capital budget for 2021 is TRIPLE what it was in 2020. There is a well-run, tight-knit group of engineers already in place here and you would be joining that team. This role will involve travel, regularly 25%, at times as much as 40%, predominantly during the week travel. The parent company does things the right way and that is evidenced by the fact that many of the people you run into here have been with this company for 10, 15, 20, or even more years.

Minimum Requirements:

B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related

3+ years of post-college, manufacturing experience

Proven process improvement abilities, abilities to determine KPIs, to do value-stream mapping, etc.

Personality is probably going to be one of the biggest factors for this position because this role will have such a diverse set of interactions (plant-level personnel up through and including the President of the company), this has to be the type of person who is a clear communicator and who can persuade and influence others
