What you'll get to do?
As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will support a team of engineers to define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate requirements for the ground segment of a satellite system. You will also support architecture design that stems from these system requirements, decomposed across multiple levels, aimed to represent the ground capabilities, that have a major impact on the mission. In this role, you will be interacting with the customer, subcontractors, Software, Hardware, Operations, Integration and Test, higher level systems engineering and integration teams, as well as program and project leadership to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to drive the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is synchronized.
This role may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal grade based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 0 years of experience with a PhD
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access or active SCI access
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Experience reviewing software code baselines and other technical documentation (particularly python, java, c++ and other scripting languages)
- Experience supporting requirement development/testing/verification
- Must have an understanding of AGILE and some experience with Atlassian tool suite (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- MBSE experience
- 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access or active SCI access
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Experience reviewing software code baselines and other technical documentation (particularly python, java, c++ as well as other object oriented and scripting languages)
- Experience supporting requirement development/testing/verification
- Experience working with Atlassian tool suite (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- MBSE experience
- Experience with Agile development as a product owner
- Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
- Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
- Excellent technical writing and team building skills
- Deep technical knowledge in a particular area where your skills can be leveraged by the
