NG's Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Systems, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. You will become part of Northrop Grumman's Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-2 Bomber, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform or manage functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes; coordinating the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance work statements and specifications
  • Serve as customer contact for program activities, as well as supporting program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product development, integration and test
  • Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Identify program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of assigned projects
  • Participate in presenting company capabilities to potential customers and in the development of potential solutions to customer requirements
  • Plan R & D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of System Engineering experience OR a Master's in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of System Engineering experience or a PhD in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 0 years of System Engineering experience
  • Experience in Systems Integration and Test
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Aircraft Modernization and Sustainment experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience on 707 aircraft
  • Experience in successfully managing C4ISR and/or battle management programs
  • Experience in large embedded software systems
  • Advanced degree in a technical field
  • Experience with aircraft systems to include avionics, radar, communications, mission computing systems, global positioning systems, threat warning systems, navigation, structures, flight controls, offensive and/or defensive systems
  • Experience managing analysis of structural loads, flight dynamics, electrical loads, thermal loads, EMI/EMC and weight and balance
  • Experience with SIL, ground and flight test requirements, planning execution and reporting
  • Experience with obtaining flight and aircraft certifications
  • Experience developing the organization processes, procedures for various engineering analysis
  • OrCAD or similar design tool experience a plus
  • Experience with Air Force customers and aerospace industry and military standards
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
  • Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment and system level.
  • Experience with information security, COMSEC and TEMPEST
  • Experience with DOORS and general requirements management best practice
  • Experience with embedded software development and/or cybersecurity
  • Experience conductinganalysis of electrical components within aircraft maintenance programs, determining effectiveness and creating written recommendations forincreasing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Familiarity with engineering project leadership to include cost, schedule and deliverable quality responsibility
  • Familiarity with contracts to include Statement of Work and requirements establishment as well as proposal evaluations
  • Familiarity with business development covering white papers, cost estimations and formal proposals


Salary Range: $83,000 USD - $124,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $103,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
