Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a skilled Principal Structural Engineer to add to our team in Oklahoma City, OK! In Vehicle Engineering, we develop manned and unmanned aircraft platforms for all the programs in the Aeronautics Systems Sector.

Duties for this position include:
  • Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
  • Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling.
  • Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
  • Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related experience; OR a Master's of Science degree in a STEM field with 3 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of experience.
  • Experience in or knowledge of the design of bonded composite primary and secondary aircraft structures.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience using Unigraphics Nx or CATIA V5
  • Experience working on Special Access Programs
  • Experience working on military aircraft
  • Experience with durability and damage tolerance (DaDT) of aircraft structures
Salary Range: $83,000 USD - $124,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
