Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer with Ammonia and/or Chemical plant experience to join our team. This role will provide technical input within Energy Consulting and the wider Wood organisation relating to the execution of proposals, studies and projects.
The Principal Process Engineer will report to the Key Segment Lead (KSL) or Study Manager on their assigned project / study with respect to timely delivery of reports, presentations, drawings and calculations for that contract. The Principal Process Engineer will work closely with other discipline engineers and the client to support them in making appropriate technical decisions for the project.

Key Responsibilities:
The Principal Process Engineer will build positive relationship with colleagues, clients, etc. They shall:
- Manage themselves and small technical teams on studies, setting clear technical direction and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Stand in as deputy for the Study Manager for specified periods of absence.
- Act as Consultant to clients; clearly communicate with clients, presenting results, proposals and ideas.
- Understand the needs of the client and challenge them to help them develop their own understanding.
- Keep their KSL and Study Manager apprised of project activities.
- Develop less experienced engineers through the preparation and presentation of training courses.
- Identify potential weaknesses in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new toolkit items.
- Support business winning through activities such as preparing proposals, attending conferences, providing input to technical papers, etc.
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering Degree; advanced degrees an asset
- 10+ years design engineering related experience within the Oil & Gas production industry
- Minimum of 10 years experience working on and leading Studies, FEED and EPC projects associated with refining and petro/chemicals within the Oil & Gas sector
- Proven core Process Engineering skills, including design experience
- A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, who is passionate about new technology and energy transition
- Excellent analytica l and numerical skills, combined with the ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Proven customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives
- A "solutions mindset" and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
- Display analytical and innovation skills to manage new technology
- Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood.
