The Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Advanced Processing Solutions business is seeking a Design Enablement Engineer . The ideal candidate will have solid understanding of microelectronic electrical principles, demonstrated organizational skills and a willingness to learn and grow in a team environment. The development nature of our foundry activities will provide a willing candidate the opportunity to grow into an integral member of the Northrop Grumman design community.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
This position can be filled at the Principal Design Enablement Engineer level OR the Sr. Principal Design Enablement Engineer level. Qualifications for both are listed below:
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Design Enablement Engineer
Salary Range 2: $132,100 USD - $198,100 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Support digital design and implementation of full-custom digital and mixed signal ASIC circuits
- License and hardware server usage and tracking
- Cluster support for the hardware engineering compute cluster
- EDA tool approval requests, installation, testing
- Support module file creation
- 3rd party IP installations
- Work closely with the design community to recommend streamlining techniques for the design flow and improved the efficiency
This position can be filled at the Principal Design Enablement Engineer level OR the Sr. Principal Design Enablement Engineer level. Qualifications for both are listed below:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field with 5 years of related experience; 3 years with Masters, 0 year with a PhD.
- Experience with some of the following: IC design tools (e.g. - Cadence or Mentor): Genus, Innovus, Tempus, Jasper, Conformal, Calibre, Virtuoso, Spectre, Assura, ADS, HFSS
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Navigate file structures in the LINUX environment.
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance per business requirements.
- US Citizenship
- Proficiency in the entire ASIC design flow from RTL through tape-out (RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, logic equivalence, DFT insertion)
- Tool experience with Formal verification Synopsys Formality or Cadence Conformal
- Familiarity with EDA standards used in cell/library development and modeling - Liberty, LEF (library exchange format), DEF (design exchange format), OA (OpenAccess)
- Experience interfacing with engineers and managers to schedule projects and to provide schedule updates and roadmaps.
- Experience with account management
- DoD Secret clearance
