Summary: Assists with the installation of plumbing pipe, valves, fittings and fixtures in buildings contracted with the company. Works in a variety of construction areas under constant direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists to install, connect and test complete water and sanitary piping systems.
• Mobilize material as directed.
• Maintains required paperwork.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must supply all tools to complete the tasks assigned.
• Must provide own transportation to and from the jobsite as required for the work shift.
• May be required to work unusual hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Must constantly protect the interests of the company and promote its success.
• Be willing to learn the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used in the trade.
• Must be able to follow directions and instructions.
• Must become knowledgeable and have the ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Make penetrations in floors, walls and roofs as needed for piping installation as directed.
• Being comfortable working in confined spaces and places at great heights.
• Learn to install piping straight, level, plumb, and cleanly, to code in a professional workmanship manner.
• Test and verify plumbing as directed.
• Able to follow oral and or written directions.
• Able to instruct and train unskilled workers in a safe manner.
• Learn to become knowledgeable of local plumbing codes.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a focus on quality service to all.

Education/Training/Experience:

• Must become familiar and comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Ability to calculate basic math problems.
• Able to read and understand a tape measure and learn to read prints.

Physical Capabilities:

• Be able to continuously bend, stretch, kneel and climb as necessary.
• Must also be able to lift at least 50 pounds of material on a continuous basis and able to do overhead work for long durations.
• Health compatible for jobsite conditions including mobilizing in trenches and in sandy conditions.
• Able to work in 90+ degree heat daily.
• Being comfortable when working in confined spaces or at great heights.
