Plant Engineering Systems Technician

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Plant Engineering System Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, service, and repair of process and facility equipment
Troubleshoot and perform repair-type maintenance on process controls and facility support equipment including but not limited to, PLC's, controls networks, AC/DC drives and motors, Servos and motion control systems, and pneumatic devices
Read and interpret elementary, PID and industrial controls drawings, interpret PLC logic, blueprints, sketches, vendor drawings and equipment service manuals as required by work assignments
Document maintenance and related functions using a CMMS Shop Work Order System, electronic and manual logbooks, and effectively communicate using e-mail and other systems
Work with engineers, technicians or craft people during troubleshooting, repair or modify equipment, systems or processes
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Currently possess or in the last seven (7) months of obtaining a two (2) year technical degree in an electrical control's maintenance field.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience with manufacturing and/or manufacturing technology on web processing equipment
Experience working with Allen Bradley controls and drive technologies
Experience working with Windows-based computer systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with people.
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
Relocation Assistance: NA
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
