Plant Engineering Inventory Specialist- 1st Shift

As an Inventory Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Responsible for maintaining accurate inventories of all standard and critical parts
Lead efforts to target 100% accountability for all parts and supplies
Provide weekly and/ or monthly reports required by supervision and leadership
Complete cycle and reconciliation of inventory, analyze our inventory levels for proper reorder quantity, receive and log stock and non-stock items in our computer system, continuously maintain accurate stock levels and identify areas of improvement and cost savings
Order inventory utilizing various on-line computer systems including eReq, eCrib and SAMS, contact suppliers to place orders. Correct invoice discrepancies
Be the subject matter expert for the parts to be able to provide the best components for the job
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our suppliers as the Plant Engineering groups' primary contact

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

Possess a High School, GED, or Trade School Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Minimum five (5) year of experience in a mechanical, electrical, or electronic fields OR Technical knowledge of one or more crafts (mechanical, electrical, or electronics) at a level normally acquired through formal training in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Must be able to pass the required 3M test battery.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Experience with SAMS and/or SAP as it relates to Plant Maintenance functions
Possess good documentation skills and can read and understand electrical / mechanical prints
Experience in a manufacturing plant environment
Understating of Maintenance functions and their relationship to overall operations
Experience with MS office Applications
Knowledge and experience in machining and materials characterization
3-5 years' experience working or leading a Maintenance stock room or crib
Lean and/ or Six Sigma training and certification.
