Job Summary
Responsible to ensure that all aspects of plant engineering requirements, including equipment design, optimization, installation, costing, are completed and accurate to meet timelines and stay within budget. Drives safety, efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement by working independently or in conjunction with engineering, production, maintenance, or vendors to analyze and develop solutions to improve processing, products and solve issues. This includes design, development, or modifications of new and existing processes, equipment, tooling, materials, cost, or quality improvement projects.
Principal Responsibilities
Developing integrated production and manufacturing systems.
Conducting studies of new equipment and machinery and recommending efficient options
Researching and presenting innovative solutions to production problems
Evaluates internal defects, downtime, and finds opportunities for improvement in terms of productivity, quality, scrap reduction, etc.
Coordinate all aspects of plant engineering projects such as: communicating with contractors, reviewing current status against timelines and cost summaries, to supply management with up to date status reports and time of completion. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Follow up on delivery of materials and equipment through maintaining communications with suppliers and contractors.
Document equipment performance, production process, equipment, and tooling specs for new products and costs analyzing inputs of production
Oversee CAPEX projects
Source all supplies, new process equipment and materials, research benchmarking of new processes for continuous improvement to meet changing needs.
Continually audit existing equipment and processes and recommend improvements. Prepares economic analysis and comparisons to provide management with information to use in decision-making processes.
Coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Production Manager, for optimum usage of internal resources during the completion of various engineering projects.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Experience in a plastic manufacturing environment/processes is preferred
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and database software
Advanced knowledge of systems, tools, and automation solutions for productivity
Understanding of technical documentation, and industrial blueprints and plans
Ability to determine how operations, environments, and systems interact
