Job Overview

Based in the Hot Springs, AR and reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be the primary technical resource for the facility operations. The role will assist operations in increasing productivity and efficiency. This position will work closely with the ORG CHEM Group team to take a key leadership and technical role in the process optimization, reliability improvement, implementation of new technology and the development of capital projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide process engineering leadership to support wiped film evaporator and distillation facilities in Hot Springs, AR
  • Utilize technical know-how and experience for technical trouble-shooting and project development
  • Technical leader in atmospheric, vacuum flash and vacuum distillation, wiped-film evaporator (WFE), boiler, furnace, heat exchanger, blending, pumping and filtering operation
  • Conceptual design and preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances preparation of design packages, translation of laboratory results, HAZOP studies, and commissioning of new facilities.
  • Project management, create and maintain project schedules to ensure deliverables are on time and in budget
  • Leader of custom tolling projects.
  • Provide long-term technical support for various customers
  • Preparation of training, operations and startup manuals
  • Developing technically innovative and creative ideas for ORG CHEM Group to expand and grow their operations.
  • Support plant quality improvements through reduced variability of plant operations

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree with at least 5 years post graduate industry experience;
  • Experience in chemical processes, engineering design and operations.
  • Experience with Hazard and Operability Studies
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Process Simulation (HYSYS, Aspen, Chemcad or Pro-II)
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding and personal presence;
  • Self-starter and highly motivated;
  • Flexible to work in a small company atmosphere.
