Position Details:

Position Type: Full Time/ 6 month contract position with opportunity for long term contingent upon performance

Job Location: Devens, MA - 100% in office

This position requires on-call once per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Function as a Process Automation System SME and support the operation of all GMP and non-GMP control systems and other auxiliary equipment at the Devens Biologics & Cell Therapy facilities
• Participate in cross functional teams to solve operational issues and develop lasting countermeasures.
• Lead smaller projects involving other automation engineers and contractors. Participate as an individual contributor on larger Process Automation Systems projects, or projects with a significant automation component.
• Provide troubleshooting and guidance support to automation systems in support of Manufacturing.
• Provide on-call support for Client, Client & PLC control systems along with other team members.
• Work with all departments and with all levels of the organization, specifically Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations.
• Exercise sound judgment in making decisions and recommendations within generally defined practices and policies and notify management when necessary.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
• Specific technical skills including a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology manufacturing sector.
• Specific technical skills including a minimum of 2-4 years' experience working with automated control systems, including Emerson's DeltaV.
• Working knowledge of the creation, control and markup of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, Loop & Segment Diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces.
• Experience with control system networking technologies and PC networking technology preferred but not required.
