Overview Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Planning Project Manager to join us in upstate NY. The Planning Project Manager leads, oversees, supervises & coordinates project activities for assigned projects involving unique or controversial complexities, through all phases. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline from an accrediteduniversity required, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree Six or more years of experience in engineering, architecture, or related discipline as alicensed, registered or certified Project Engineer/Architect/Planner/etc. Professional licensure, registration, or certification in related discipline preferred Proficient in use and understanding of the appropriate CAD and/or applicable design software such as GIS, PM software, Adobe Creative Suite Responsibilities The following duties are typical of the Planning Project Manager, but are not all encompassing: Ensure the success of the projects (including planning, quality assurance, deadlines, andfinancial aspects/collections) Handle all aspects of a project, including proposal, contract negotiation, project work plan(scope, schedule, budget, Quality Plan), and final agreement/contract in conjunction withthe project team, including the quality reviewer Provide leadership to individuals within and outside Bergmann Plan, organize, and supervise the work and workload of project staff, which may includeengineers, architects, designers and technicians Prepare project budget with input and accountability from other project team staff Monitor project costs to ensure that project is delivered within budget, fulfills customerexpectations, maintains profitability, and/or aligns with the company strategic objectives• Manage the project budget including scope and change orders to new and existing clients Market specific strategic objectives Fulfill client manager role for clients in his/her own discipline and market for other disciplines Get to know Bergmann current and potential clients and make connections between others at the organization Understand the client's needs, short and long term strategies continually working towardsbecoming a trusted advisor Proactively keep client informed, suggesting next steps, ascertaining answers and solutions as needed and demonstrating integrity in all communications. Mentor Assistant Project Managers on all aspects of project management Review invoice charges for accuracy related to hours billed, coordinate customer billingand/or invoicing with Accounting Department, and follow up on outstanding invoices asneeded Prepare monthly financial reports (project percent complete, etc.) Fulfill the role of Project Engineer/Architect/Planner/etc. as needed Coordinate with other contractors and/or in-house and outside design professionals onproject; obtain and coordinate resources from other disciplines as needed May serve as primary client representative for Bergmann May provide direct supervision to staff, including timesheet review, goal setting, evaluationand professional development May assist in the recruitment process by identifying candidates for employment and/orparticipating in the hiring and selection process Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others onthe team and across disciplines/offices Be responsive to others and share information to improve efficiency and help othersachieve goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate Suggest new ideas and processes; stay informed of developments in practice areas; viewobstacles as opportunities What We Offer At Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, our people are our most important resource.
