The Maintenance Planner will direct maintenance planning activities and provide operation support. This position is responsible for in-house planned maintenance, preventative maintenance, contracted work, and vendor services. Work Planning & Scheduling: Responsible for efficient planned predictive and corrective maintenance activities. Review maintenance backlog to prioritize/schedule. Distribute work packages to personnel. Provide for guidance during work execution phase. Provide for follow-up and analysis after completion. Provides technical and problem-solving support for recurring problems. Assemble work lists based on priority and needs of the mill. Orders and allocates parts for specific work orders. Manages quality of all data in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Maintain PM/PDM Systems: Review PM's (Preventative Maintenance) and update to keep current as equipment and best practices dictate. Distribute PM's weekly to assigned personnel. Collect and review completed PM's for follow-up and further action or record keeping as required. Schedule contractors or services to complete PDM (Predictive Maintenance) work as required. Contractor Management: Coordinate work package execution during plant maintenance outages. Schedule adequate contractor resources to complete scheduled work. Process contractor invoices for review and issue of purchase orders. Ensure safety and fire protection guidelines are followed. Maintenance Budgets and Performance: Assist with maintenance operating budget analysis and development. Track monthly budget expenditures. Track performance against best maintenance practice metrics. Ensures achievement of all area/shift KPI's; ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of all area/shift in lumber mill. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D., required with additional specialized/technical training preferred (i.e. electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, pre-engineering.) 3-5 years' experience in a lumber environment and knowledge of lumber mill, facilities, or production equipment maintenance. Experience in Asset Management Software (CMMS preferred). Strong interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Excellent organization skills.
