Job Overview
We are seeking to add a Patient Services Team Lead to support a group that handles issues touching all core aspects of business operations, including patient communications, revenue-driving activity and the processing of patient records to support clinical operations. The team processes provider referrals, pre-authorizations, pre-visit checks and such to support smooth clinical operations, and also handles a high volume of outbound and inbound calls for patient appointments, inquiries, requests and complaints.
We are seeking a Team Lead who possesses exceptional customer service skills, a can-do attitude, and thrives in a demanding but collaborative work environment. The successful candidate will be a fast learner, technologically savvy, and detail- oriented with good communication skills (written and verbal). Experience in the medical services industry is required, along with a good grasp of the core functions in a medical services operation.
Working hours are Monday - Friday with a day off during the week 8:00am - 4:30pm (occasional coverage for 12:00pm - 8:00pm as needed) and working alternating weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Working collaboratively with peer Team Leads to support and supervise a team. The Patient Services Group team consists of internal and outsourced staff.
Stay abreast of operational/clinical changes and maintain active communications with all staff.
Assist the Patient Services manager with staff scheduling based on patient service demand.
Focus team performance on patient experience by timely addressing patient requests for services and supporting patient visit related administrative processing. Take personal responsibility and accountability for addressing customer-service problems, escalating issues as appropriate.
Ensure compliance by team members of all policies and standard operating procedures. Actively participate with staff and manager to identify ways to streamline and improve processes.
Qualifications
Associates Degree preferred (in lieu of which, 2-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum of 1 years of supervisory or Team Lead experience in a medical services environment.
Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Must possess the ability to lead and motivate team members, strong problem-solving skills and be able to work independently.
Savvy with computers and software, proficient with Microsoft Office and one or more EMRs.
Ability to handle a high-pressure, fast-paced operational environment.
Exposure to a call center environment is preferred.
