Purpose of Job
- Responsible for painting surfaces within the Methodist Health System.
Job Requirements
- Education
  - High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) required
- Experience
  - Previous painting experience necessary.
- License/Certifications
  - Valid and current drivers license required.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  - Skilled in promoting positive relations when interacting with patients or other customers.
  - Knowledge of painting, patching and sanding, staining of wood.
  - Special skills in carpentry, applying/repairing vinyl wall coverings.
  - Preparing surfaces for painting/ vinyl wall coverings, reading and interpreting blueprints, and finish schedules.
  - Ability to work independently, communicate with hospital personnel, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  - Ability to read labels, specifications and instructions.

- Essential Functions I
  - Promotes positive relations when interacting with patients, visitors, families, physicians, customers and co-workers.
    - Greet, smiles and makes eye contact.
    - Introduces self by name.
    - Volunteers to help co-workers and other employees.
    - Addresses patients and others by surname.
    - Responds quickly to patients and/or other peoples' needs.
    - Knows and demonstrates 6 step customer complaint management process.
  - Paints surfaces within the Hospital and owned properties.
    - Paints surfaces that shall enhance the beauty of the building.
    - Obtains paint at designated location.
    - May be required to work at multiple sites in a day.
  - Stains surfaces within the Hospital and owned properties.
    - Prepares surfaces for staining and then stains surfaces to enhance the beauty of the building.
  - Replace or repair vinyl wall covering within the Hospital and owned properties.
    - Replaces and repairs vinyl coverings to enhance the beauty of the building.
  - Recordkeeping - completes work order sheets and gives to Manager.
    - Ensures accuracy and completeness of paperwork.
- Essential Functions II
  - Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.
  - Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.
  - Other duties as assigned.
