Operate centrifuges and other oil room equipment to produce high quality products and ingredients in accordance with company standards. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Set water level set points to extractors. Monitor and change air operated pumps as necessary. Change finisher screens. Drum, dump and refine oil. Recover raw oil. Operate separator and other centrifuge devices. Monitor equipment operations and report abnormalities to supervisor. Distinguish tools and their uses. Maintain accurate logs and records. Communicate with other departments. Assist supervisors, and "C" Operator as needed. Ensure good safety practices. Identify parts. Operate forklift to move products, equipment and supplies. Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment to ensure GMP standards. Assemble and disassemble equipment for periodically for servicing and cleaning. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Report any unsafe conditions to coordinator. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum level of formal education that is required to perform this job satisfactorily High School Diploma or GED or related knowledge and skill as described below. Vocational school of some college preferred. TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge and skill equivalent to completion of high school. Ability to identify equipment problems. Ability to understand, record and communicate product description and codes. Ability to communicate with other associates. Requires forklift license or must be able to attain forklift license. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to multitask. Good math skills required. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operate other equipment when necessary. Learn other jobs within the functional area. Participate with CCJ Safety and Quality programs. EQUIPMENT Centrifuges, hoses, pneumatic and manual valves, large capacity tanks, numerous types of standard and specialized hand tools, air operated and motorized pumps, computer, forklift, first aid supplies, fall protection equipment: safety harness, ladders, hard hat, safety glasses, forklift, ear plugs, hair net, beard net. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed both in and out of doors. Requires exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, vibrations, moving equipment, wetness, etc. Work is performed on rotating shifts.
