Our East Coast Operations are seeking an experienced leader to serve as Offshore Energy Project Manager (Senior) to support our onshore and offshore renewable energy practices in the Eastern US. Tetra Tech has acted as the lead consultant on the development of hundreds of offshore facilities, including deep water ports, oil and gas platforms, subsea pipelines, transmission & Telecommunications cables, and renewable energy projects, including wind, wave, and hydrokinetic projects across the United States. For offshore wind specifically, Tetra Tech completed the permitting for the only two operational projects in the United States and is actively supporting a dozen projects. The Tetra Tech team has significant experience permitting offshore energy infrastructure projects that require authorizations from a multitude of federal, state, and local agencies including, but not limited to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Maritime Administration, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This role is a strategic growth opportunity for the right candidate to use our experience and continue to grow our offshore wind team. This individual will assist in the development, strategic direction, and growth of Tetra Tech's offshore wind practice in the US. This role could be located in any of our East Coast office locations or work remotely, with acknowledgement that Boston serves as the offshore wind headquarters for Tetra Tech. Responsibilities: Business Development: Support the development of Tetra Tech's onshore and offshore renewable energy practices in the Eastern US. Participate in client marketing and business development activities which consists of client pre-positioning, technical presentations, trade show attendance and client meetings. Prepare proposals, cost estimates, RFQs and other marketing materials to support the growth and development of onshore and offshore renewable energy practice in the Western US. Project Management: Perform various consulting-related duties supporting the development, analysis, permitting and financial aspects of onshore and offshore renewable energy development projects. Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget. Serve as a Project Manager-including responsibilities to manage technical projects, engage with clients to identify new work opportunities, prepare proposals and cost estimates, establish and formulate technical approaches, and direct project teams. Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders. Qualifications: B.S. in Environmental Science/Environmental Management/Marine Science/Engineering or related discipline. 10-15 years of professional experience with a pattern of progressive achievements. Experience and knowledge of the regulatory frameworks of New England and/or mid-Atlantic agencies (Energy Facilities Siting Board, Article VII, etc.) Experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), federal and state permitting, onshore and offshore wind, power generation and transmission, infrastructure, and/or renewable energy. Successful candidate will be a seller-doer with strong, technical background in permitting energy projects, project management skills, and client/stakeholder relationships. Demonstrated successful project management skills, especially leading teams on projects along the East Coast. Applied knowledge of onshore and offshore biological, physical, and cultural resources. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills to convey technical information to clients and business and financial reports to management. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree Environmental Management/Planning or related background. 10-15+ years of relevant experience. Experience managing major projects with complex project teams on the East Coast is preferred. Experience with routing, siting, and permitting of electric transmission, offshore oil and gas infrastructure, subsea cable or offshore energy projects.
