JOB SUMMARY:responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the galley and the provision storage area(s).
PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Transport Canada Ships Cook Certificate
- STCW Basic Safety Training
- STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft Other than Fast Rescue Boats
- Marine Basic First Aid
- Marine Medical
- Food Safety Handling Certificate
- WHMIS 2015
- Passport
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, Alcohol Screening and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with procedures and working instructions
- Responsible for cooking and baking activities
- Assists chief cook in the maintenance of stock levels for all catering and cleaning materials including stock rotation
- Ensures the Galley, fridges, freezers, storerooms and mess rooms are maintained in a clean & hygienic condition
- Assist the Chief Cook in their assistance to the Captain in conducting the Master's Review in accordance with the ISM Code
- Practice workplace health and safety procedures
- Operate, clean and maintain food services equipment and facilities
- Manage food safety
- Other Duties as assigned
