DroneUp is seeking a Network Engineer to join the Cloud Technology Team. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of DroneUp to ensure maximum uptime for our users. This role can include, but is not limited to, designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. We are a cloud first company and are seeking an engineer that knows, or can quickly understand, the requirements of cloud and LTE network design and operation.

Responsibilities

Perform new installations/upgrades; configure and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and related devices ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly
Solve network connectivity issues, adding/modifying NAT entries and firewall rules to enable connectivity
Oversee the development and optimization of SD-WAN and SASE technologies
Design, plan, and implement client-specific cloud solutions and ensure the cloud network is responsive to user demands
Ensure optimization of large scale client roaming technologies.
Implement high availability and disaster recovery principles
Evaluates business requirements and makes recommendations for implementations.
Configure and manage Juniper, Meraki, and other network devices.
Provide hands-on network engineering to ensure all projects and deliverables are completed accurately and on time, including deployment of projects and initiatives
Assist in day-to-day project coordination and management of the network, including troubleshooting network problems and outages
Monitor usage of cloud network
Support cloud solutions engineers to provide availability and delivery of cloud networking services following business and technical requirements
Procure hardware, software, and other IT related equipment as needed
Scale cloud services to serve growing business needs.
Ensure accountability for delivering well-tested, secure technologies that support DroneUp's vision and strategy
Respond to requests from change control, service outages, service requests, and act as a technical resource to others on the team
Secure network by establishing and enforcing policies, as well as defining and monitoring access
Act as a liaison with business owners and/or stakeholders to determine growth plans
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
At least 5 or more years of experience in a Network Engineer role
CCNA, CCNP, or other advanced networking certification.
Proficient hands-on experience and understanding of fundamental networking concepts, practices, procedures, and protocols such as: BGP, VLANs, TCP/IP, STP, SIP, and subnetting
Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team
Experience and familiarity of networking within cloud infrastructure such as, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform
Knowledge of VPN technology and at least one of the following firewall solutions: Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Palo Alto/Perimeter81
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced and agile technical environment
Knowledge of wireless network design and troubleshooting
Knowledge of LTE / Cellular network planning and implementation
Knowledge of IoT network Device planning and implementation
Knowledge of network monitoring and performance analysis as well as robust troubleshooting skills.
Background in meeting security compliance such as HIPAA, HiTrust, ISO, and PCI etc.
Experience with networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies)
Self-starter able to troubleshoot independently in downtime or outage situations with the ability to also work in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Familiarity with the Agile and DevOps models, as well as understanding modern deployment and configuration management techniques and tools
