PURPOSE: This role is responsible for strategy, sales, product management, and technical service of Specialty Gas Division. The role will be in charge of setting and managing annual department goals, budgets, account coverage assignments with the team, management of key national and OEM customers, coordinating efforts of the industrial field sales group, international coordination with global gas equipment team. This position is based in Gainesville, Georgia.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Specialty Gas Department Management
    • Defining account coverage assignment, goals, and reporting metrics, for Spec Gas teams
    • Monthly Budgeting and SDP Reporting
    • Strategic direction of the business into new markets and customer segments
  • Outside Sales Support of OEM and House Accounts
    • Calls on major customers as required to insure adequate communication and build/maintain relationships that meet the company's goals and to support inside and outside sales teams
    • Attracts and develops new OEM customers to support the company's goals for growth
    • Assists outside field sales with on-site support and technical expertise on Harris products that enable them to grow and expand the Specialty Gas Equipment business in their respective territory
  • Technical Service, Inside Sales, and Customer Service Support
    • Manages team who attracts and develops new customers and distributors to market Harris Specialty Gas Products
    • Provides the technical and commercial support required to close all sales opportunities
    • Works internally with production, engineering and technical service to insure that products meet or exceed departmental and customer expectations of quality and service

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business
  • 5+ years of spec gas industry knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience in spec gas sales (gas and/or equipment)
  • Able to travel to visit customers
  • People / team management experience
  • Engineering or technical background preferred
  • Current contacts in the gas industry preferred
  • Must be able to evaluate gas equipment problems over the phone and offer solutions
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Products - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
