Summary of Role: RF Phd EE or Phd in Physics with strong C++ programming skills and RF system level board design skills to design high volume mmWave test solutions, including the design of the RF test boards and test equipment. PHD in RF system level or board level design to work with external design teams all over the world, developing mmWave Wafer or package level component test solutions. The Engineer will meet regularly with Globalforundries customers to work with their RF IC design teams to design high volume custom test solutions. The engineer will work with the customers to develop a list of functional tests, design mmWave test boards which will interface to the customer's wafer or package circuit, develop test equipment to test the functional tests as required, use 2d and 3d RF simulators to model the test hardware, develop cadence Allegro test hardware schematics, debug the test hardware in a facility with multimillion dollar mmWave test equipment, and write test code in Linux C++ to control the test equipment. 5 years experience or Phd/post doc experience in C++ programming in a Linux environment and designing or working with mmWave test equipment is desired. Minimal travel required to support customer, other GF sites or to technical conferences less than 10% of the time. Physical work on site in Burlington Vermont required to work with the test equipment, customer hardware and lab debug tools. Written and verbal Fluency in the English Language required.
