Job Summary: The Mold Technician Level Three is responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process to produce various products.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for molding machine set-up, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and work flow including auxiliary equipment as related to the molding process.
Works with Quality Assurance and Tool Room to ensure molded components meet requirements, making adjustments as required.
Responsible for proper handling, analysis and care of all materials, molds and tooling.
Follows established procedures and documentation in order to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Monitors the process, start-up and shut-down of assigned jobs. Follows schedule and maintains machines running at documented cycle.
Performs machine shut-down tasks and completes line clearance activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

A high school diploma / GED and a minimum of 2 years of experience in injection molding setup and processing.
Basic computer skills.
Strong technical and mechanical background.
Strong understanding of Process and Mold Development.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to meet the qualifications of SMC's Mold Technician Level 2 requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of, and experience with Process Monitoring DAQ systems.

ADA Requirements:

Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks
Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
