Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload & Ground Systems, Strategic Force Programs in Azusa, CA, is seeking an innovative Level 2 Systems Engineer to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system requirements and architectural modeling, and requirements and verification in support of the development of space payloads and ground systems. The organization supports space-based surveillance systems for varied missions including missile warning/defense and environmental monitoring. A qualified candidate will collaborate with diverse engineering teams across the product lifecycle from pre-proposal through product development, delivery, and sustainment to assist in understanding customer solution intent, establishing and managing the technical baseline, supporting system modeling, and developing content for review milestones.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs. This role will be reporting on-site daily, but we can accommodate partial hybrid teleworking based upon business/program need.
Basic Qualifications: (Level 2)
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. - Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 2 years related technical experience in a Space/Defense industry position, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field
- Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
- SysML and Cameo knowledge
- Basic knowledge of DOORS (Classic or Next Gen)
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Experience/exposure to DODAF modeling
- 3+ years of related experience
- Active DoD TS/SSBI clearance
- Certificate in SysML and/or DODAF
- Experience with modeling cyber-physical (hardware & software) solutions
- Experience in an Agile development
