We are currently seeking a Mine Operator 1.4 to join our team. This is a full-time, contract position at our mine in Moose River Gold Mines. The work schedule is 4 days on, 4 days off, working 12-hour shifts. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, your role will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment (haul trucks, excavators, loaders and / or various support equipment) to meet mining objectives.
The Opportunity
Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
Applying all applicable regulations, codes and corporate/site standard operating procedures.
Complete competency training on five or more pieces of mobile equipment. Achieve competency sign-off by Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) Trainer.
Responsible for safe use and inspection of required equipment each shift.
Report damage or malfunctions to vehicle immediately to the Mine Operations Supervisor.
Assist in all aspects of daily mine activities as directed by the Mine Operations Supervisor with an active focus on efficiency in material movement, dilution control and reporting.
Understand and work to site specific survey and geology lay-outs.
Perform assigned tasks with a focus on desired final design and setup for next shift.
Show ownership of assigned task, assist in managing the activities in your work area. Report potential impacts on efficiency to Mine Operations Supervisor, assist in development of corrective actions.
Provide clear accurate reports in relation to assigned tasks.
Practice good housekeeping, clean cab, windows, mirrors regularly with special focus on shift changes.
Undertake other duties as assigned.
Requirements

A demonstrated commitment to safety required.
Valid Driver's license, minimum class 5.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Ability to complete daily logs in an accurate manner.

Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
