Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Microelectronics Fabrication Section Head to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA.
As the Microelectronics Fabrication Section Head you will be leading and supporting the approximately 40 technicians in the Semiconductor Process Department and will be reporting the Manager of the Semiconductor Process.
In this role, the select candidate will be expected to:

Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Microelectronics Fabrication Section Head to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA.
As the Microelectronics Fabrication Section Head you will be leading and supporting the approximately 40 technicians in the Semiconductor Process Department and will be reporting the Manager of the Semiconductor Process.
In this role, the select candidate will be expected to:
- Provide leadership and direction to lab supervisors/technicians to execute production
- Manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for both higher and lower performers)
- Act as the first point of contact for technical issues on production and will make decisions to ensure the quality and schedule of programs
- Participate in recruiting and hiring, day to day support for production
- Provide inputs and make decisions on capital budget
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in a technical role OR Master's Degree plus 3 years of experience in a technical
- Experience with Semiconductor production operation
- Prior experience leading or managing a team
- Experience managing teams including setting up the goals and end year performance assessment.
- Experience on semiconductor manufacturing metrics and ideas how to reduce fab cost and cycle time
- Experience on working with other section heads to improve the production efficiency and will lead the team to achieve the affordability goal
- Experience on training non-exempt group to follow the document and procedure properly.
- E xperience on working with NG facility group to improve infrastructure for department.
- Direct experience on the manufacturing processes of III-V compound semiconductor wafers
- Experience working on the following technologies: GaAs HEMT/HBT, InP HEMT and TF2/TF4, and GaN HEMT technologies
