Primary Responsibilities: Assessing and resolving product/process issues through the product life-cycle. Leading research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer. Designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service. Working with and possibly directing cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformance. Assesses complex system events reports to determine potential safety issues. Develops and implements product/process improvements. Writes documentation of hardware related problems. Participates in activities for on-site disabled product repair teams. Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Solves problems and provides other support of fielded hardware over the entire product life-cycle. Works with others to develop program test strategies. Manages performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Conducts program independent reviews and reports results to program leadership. This position is expected to be 100% on-site. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations or approved alternative locations. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited course of study. Must be willing to be on call 24x7 as required to support emergent airline customer requirements. Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 1+ years' of experience working with or on an Engineering team (Entry Level). 1 or more years' related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (Associate). 3 or more years' related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (Mid Level/Experienced) Experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft is a plus Good verbal and written communication skills Experience collaborating with multiple team functions Experience with customer support Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility Typical Education/Experience Entry Level (Level 1) Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Associate (Level 2) Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Mid Level/Experienced (Level 3) Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
