Installation, corrective and preventative maintenance, of production and building equipment Troubleshooting and repairing of production and building equipment Production support with changeover, product set-up and start-up On-call support of off-shift production as assigned. Documentation of equipment maintenance performed Development of preventative maintenance plans by machine type Strives to exemplify Albany's core values of Safety, Accountability, Fact Based, Persistence, Respect and Ethics Supports operational goals in the areas of Safety, Quality Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). Contribute to process improvement Housekeeping and organization of the work area (5S) Supervisory responsibility: No Qualifications/Characteristics All qualifications must comply with provincial human rights legislation. Mechanical assembly, proper fit and alignment of mechanical components. Basic understanding of electricity, electronics, and electrical wiring as it relates to machinery and equipment. Basic understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and Controls logic. Basic understanding of rigging / millwright practices Familiar with MSDS and their use Proper use of safety and personal protective equipment. Fully trained in Lock out/ Tag out procedure. Fully trained in safe electrical work practice Troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair of electro-mechanical equipment Experience with mechanic's hand and power tools, small equipment, and basic machining operations (milling, tapping, honing, etc.). Experience with facility's equipment such as boilers, compressors, softeners, chillers, pumps, and cooling towers. Safe operation of powered lifting equipment (fork lift, man lift, etc.) Basic welding skills. Basic blueprint, sketch, layout, wiring diagram, drawing & specification interpretation skills. Basic math skills Basic use of precision measuring tools Understand and follow training materials, technical drawings, and work instructions. Basic computer skills. Ability to learn basic MS Outlook/Word/Excel functions, PM program use and SAP transactions. Good attention to detail and problem solving skills Current valid driver's license Education: Minimum High School Graduate with relevant work experience. Working Conditions Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures, some work outside may be required, Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need. Physical requirements Frequent repetitive hand movements, using hand tools - pliers, sanders, scissors, etc Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time Frequently move about the facility indoors as well as outdoors to make repairs, etc Constantly positions self to repair/build equipment and/or facility Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment and/or complete a building repair Must be able to detect equipment issues and assess for repairs Regularly move tools and equipment up to >25 lbs.
