Description:

Leads a team of individuals focused on all aspects of pump system design. Train, develop and mentor mechanical personnel by setting goals and priorities for the group.

In addition, this position performs a variety of mechanical/electrical engineering-related functions in support of the design and application of pumping controls-related accessories. This will include a range of engineering duties from calculations, CAD drafting, testing, and other similar technical functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, mentor and manage mechanical engineering team, setting priorities and goals, and managing workload.

• Oversee the design process of all pump offerings.

• Manage and provide daily support of sales by answering applications questions with the Inside Sales team, Outside Sales team, Distributors and End-Users.

• Responsible for developing testing procedures of pumps systems, and in partnership with Production, ensure testing standards are met.

• Write process procedures for the assembly of pump systems for Production.

• Work with the Supply Chain department and other outside sources in the development and sourcing of new products and components.

• Daily interaction with the ERP system including looking up parts, BOM's, inventory locations, costs, etc.

• Detailing of mechanical/electrical component designs in the IFS CAD system and to IFS drafting standards.

• Responsible for troubleshooting and solving problems with pumps systems, and to collaborate with other team members in determining the best resolution.

• Inspect electrical motors and wiring using precision electrical instrumentation including volt-ohm meters, meter tester, high pot tester, and other electrical/motor instrumentation.

• Write manuals, develop pump assembly blueprints and similar documentation, translating them into proper assembly procedures and methods.

• Support the evaluation of pump systems returned from the field to understand key modes of failure and potential short- and long-term resolutions for improvement.

• Work with all functional disciplines in the organization to facilitate meeting production requirements.

• Participate in companywide continuous improvement and similar quality efforts to help grow the operation.

• Able to perform daily work safely with full consideration for fellow employees and in full compliance with OSHA safety standards.
