Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will react quickly and proficiently to the customer's requirements with the ability to manage numerous projects and other daily tasks. This candidate would have strong mechanical aptitude, great organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and proficiency using Solidworks for design and details. Automotive industry experience is a plus. This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple projects ranging in various sizes
• Produce custom mechanical design solutions using Weiss standard products that fit our customer's needs
• Communicate with WEISS customers as needed during the sales process or assigned project and provide customer support as needed to support WEISS products
• Coordinate sales support and proposals for manufactured added value products
• Track current projects and maintain delivery schedules for all assigned projects
• Construct proper bills of materials and router steps for manufactured products using the company's ERP software program as needed
• Communicate with all departments, customers, and suppliers efficiently; new and existing
• Provide design support in maintaining the Weiss North America standard CAD data utilizing Solidworks
• Concept and design structural added value solutions using WEISS product offerings as required
• Assist in maintaining the highest quality of product provided by Weiss North America
• Prepare formal proposals on standard and custom manufactured products
• Assist customers and sales with their CAD data requests
• Update and direct our direct and indirect sales teams as it relates to their territory projects
• Must be hands on and have the ability to understand and demonstrate our products effectively.
• Be a confident supplier of solutions to our customer base

• Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 3 or more years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in machine automation, mechanical machine design and project management
• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
• Electrical knowledge is a plus
• Strong desire to work with a fast-growing, high-tech leader in the field of factory automation equipment
• Confident personality with a can do attitude is a must; creative solution finder
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Must be self-started and able to work independently with little supervision
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP is a plus, but not required
