Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the engineering design and development of innovative products to meet customer requirements

• Work with cross functional teams around the world to ensure design quality, efficiency and manufacturability

• Participate in technical design review meetings and provide design direction and input

• Responsible for providing creative and innovative engineering solutions that aid in the resolution of field and manufacturing challenges

• Responsible for implementing all phases of project plans and monitoring progress per established schedule and budget targets

• Responsible for maintaining strong relationships with customers, field personnel and other Valmont departments

• Responsible for the detailed project documentation currently required by Valmont Product Development procedures

• Responsible for advancing technical competence to contribute new design concepts using the latest state-of-the-art technology

• Responsible for coordinating and conducting laboratory or field testing as situations dictate

• Provide technical support to other departments as required toward meeting the needs of our customers

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelorâ s Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or related field

• Proven experience in mechanical design of electronic assemblies

• Proven experience in design of metallic and nonmetallic enclosures, bezels, and housings

• Comfortable navigating Google Suite

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%

• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

• Proven experience developing products in the mechanical design field

• Experience with design software for modeling and analysis

• Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

• Desire to take on new challenges and provide innovative solutions

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with design software including PTC Creo and ANSYS

• Masterâ s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering

• A strong working knowledge of mechanized irrigation systems

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

• Experience with Agile methodologies
