Job Overview

Our client, a manufacturing company in Jordan, MN is hiring a full time Mechanical Design Engineer.

The ideal candidate will create, draft, and design product layouts and schemes using customer specification and recommendations.This individual will test products and make adjustments where necessary. Additionally, they will examine broken products and resolve issues for future designs.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple custom projects and supporting drafters of power transformers.
Complete mechanical designs, analysis, and layout packaging of power

transformers, and mobile substations.

Apply knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Vault or other PDM/CAD design
software.
Design Transformer Tanks, Steel and aluminum structures, fixtures, and other peripheral accessories components to complete packaging layout as per customer specification.
Perform mechanical design calculations like stresses, bending moments and weight distributions.
Assess customer requirements, industry IEEE standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist production, quality and sales in investigating and analyzing nonconforming products.
Coordinate with suppliers and customers.
Prepare engineering standards and instructions.
Prepare drawings, ECOs, Bills of material and order materials.
Provide support and training to drafters and production.
