Mechanical CAD Intern

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Mechanical CAD Intern, are to:

• Work directly with a Mechanical CAD Designer as a mentor;
• Prepare project Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Engineering Flow Diagrams (EFDs);
• Work with the mechanical engineer to develop project drawings for equipment, piping layouts, seed spouting runs, and dust collection layouts;
• Create of equipment blocks in 3D space and using them to create a 3D model of the project space;
• Work with 3D scans to overlay existing conditions on top of the project 3D model;
• Review equipment vendor drawings and updating the 3D model Accordingly;
• Support the construction of the project;
• Support project checkout and startup at manufacturing site;
• Support the effort to As-Built project drawings after construction and commissioning have been complete.

Required qualifications:

• First year student working towards a two-year degree or CAD certificate;
• Sophomore or Junior pursing a Bachelor's degree in CAD.

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong desire and ability to create and work in 3D space;
• General mechanical aptitude;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Good problem solving skills;
• High degree of personal initiative;
• Excellent organization and planning skills;
• Ability to work well in a team environment and a diverse culture;
• No travel limitations.
