SUMMARY
Assist in making cuts, trims, bones, ties and grinds meats to portion and prepare meat in cooking form by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure that the customer service policy is enforced throughout the department and store.

Cuts, trims and bones carcass section or primal cuts to reduce to cooking cuts such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes and grinding meat under the supervision of his/her supervisor.

Has working knowledge of the scale and know proper wrapping skills and packaging.

Knows how to operate all equipment in the department and is very knowledgeable with all safety regulations pertaining to the equipment and department.

Knowledgeable with cutting tests to maximize sales and profits.

Assists in receiving trucks, rotating of all product in coolers and sales floor.

Assists with all daily activities that are assigned by supervisor.

Is familiar with productivity standards set by the company and meets those standards.

Assists customers with any questions they might have regarding the cuts of meat and how to prepare.

Maintains sanitation standards set by the company throughout the department.

Knowledgeable with all cuts of meats coming off the primals that will be cut for packaging.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS - Must be minimum age of 18

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
