Terra Green is a full-service landscape company that is driven by its mission and core values. In order to better fulfill their mission, the company is in search for a highly motivated and experienced master mechanic for its fleet and small equipment. The incumbent's primary responsibilities for this position will be to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on diesel/gas engines, small engines, and trailers in the company's newly designed mechanic facility and maintenance shop.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring good quality work and time management. Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds, be willing to work in varying weather conditions, have a valid driver's license, and good work ethic. A minimum of 4+ years of mechanical experience as well as a 1-year minimum of small engine mechanical experience is required. This is a full-time year-round position.
Responsibilities for Master Mechanic
Perform routine and scheduled vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, tire rotations, brakes and tune-ups on fleet vehicles and trailers
Complete vehicle and equipment inspections during routine services to ensure vehicle and equipment's are ready to be released from the shop and also create preventive maintenance actions.
Troubleshooting & performing diagnostic tests to vehicles and equipment
Perform tire installs to all fleet vehicles
Perform routine and scheduled heavy equipment services (Mini Skid-steers, Skid-steers, Excavators, Wheel-Loaders, Grinders, Screeners, etc.)
Perform minor and major repairs on both fleet vehicles and equipment
Performing welding repairs to any damaged metal on vehicle and equipment
Communicate equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with corresponding managers for both equipment and fleet vehicles
State Vehicle Inspections- (Company willing to send the right candidate to training)
Maintain record of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
Raise trucks and other heavy equipment by using in-house hydraulic lift
Maintain adequate parts inventory
Maintain correct records of each repair performed on each vehicle and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop and surrounding areas
Comply with all OSHA, DOT, and Safety regulations
Follow company rules and regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 4+ years of recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience
Minimum of 1+ years repair experience with mowers, small engines, 2 cycle equipment, and utility vehicles
High School Diploma with additional technical certification a plus
Basic computer skills
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational skills (record-keeping, shop cleanliness, inventory and purchasing)
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to load and unload equipment onto trucks
Ability to work independently
NC State Inspector- preferred but not required
Ability to weld
Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
Submit to drug test and background check
Have a valid Driver's License
