Description:
We're looking for a full-time Master Electrician at our downtown Minneapolis facility. Our Mission is to provide the county with cost effective resource recovery in harmony with a sustainable environment, and this Master Electrician will be joining a team on day shift at a company with phenomenal internal benefits.
In the Master Electrician position, you are responsible for overseeing, directing and performing electrical maintenance, repair, inspection and/or new work on electrical equipment (4160 volts and lower), apparatus and fixtures within the plant. You will pull permits, set up inspections, obtain required licenses and ensure all electrical work is performed safely and code compliant.
Job responsibilities include:
- Responsible for operation and preventive/corrective maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure that the facility works at optimum levels. These duties include troubleshooting, inspection, repair and/or replacement of electrical and control circuits/components, variable speed controllers, cranes, motors 4160V & lower, conveyors, fans, plc's, plant lighting, and switchgear 13.8 KV and lower.
- Performs skilled electrical work in the installation and repair of wiring, apparatus and equipment for light, heat, power, switchgear, panel boards, motor controllers, and motors.
- Monitors work sites to ensure compliance with National Electric Code, OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and industry standards.
- Obtains any necessary permits, orders parts and equipment for new electrical projects and ensures that all components are correctly and safely installed and in working order.
- Ensures prints, schedules and O&M manuals are updated as changes are made to plant electrical systems.
- Oversees electrical contractors who are assisting with installing or repairing plant electrical equipment.
- Documents all maintenance and repair work planned and completed, using the designated computer software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must Have Qualifications:
•Possess a current Minnesota Class A Master Electrician license or be able to achieve the license within 1 year of assuming the position.
•Have experience with troubleshooting and repair of control circuits, power circuits, lighting circuits, motors, PLCs, and components of each.
•Have a minimum of 5 years of related experience as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial setting.
•Be able to climb onto equipment, walk and stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds and be unafraid of working at heights.
•Have a valid driver's license.
MUST HAVES:
- Recent Industrial Electrician experience
- Experience threading and bending Rigid Conduit
- Troubleshooting motors and motor control circuits
- Experience installing and repairing old parts
