POSITION SUMMARY

Develop and implement necessary tooling and fixtures for manufacturing or product. Assists in support of facility in Engineering/Maintenance/Tool and Die departments as needs arise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Work safely in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Assist manufacturing Engineers in implementation of products and/or processes. Could include, but not be limited to, executing portions of project from start to finish, assisting in documentation.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Work with vendors for coordination and implementation of maintenance needs.
  • Establish precise timelines for defined projects and complete within these timelines.
  • Review new items (NIR's) and determine best cost process for plant to manufacture. Review designs for manufacturability, work with design and marketing as needed to implement changes (variable based on location).
  • Design and implement fixturing and/or processes for manufacturing of new products (variable based on location).
  • Responsible for the successful completion of projects with clearly defined goals and scope, working closely with engineers for guidance and assistance.
  • Develop and write appropriation requests (AR).
  • Responsible for the routine attainment of parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school Degree or equivalent

Experience: Minimum of 1 year engineering or manufacturing experience or working towards an engineering/technical degree preferred

Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying work analysis and measurement techniques. Proven ability to perform work samplings and summarize conclusions. Proven ability to develop costs/methods comparisons, break-even points, etc., and recommend and implement a course of action.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process capabilities and understanding of process flows.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and machinery terminology (roller bearing, needle bearing, bushing, reducer ratios, horsepower, etc).
  • Intermediate organizational skills, including ability to maintain inventories in orderly fashion on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Ability to read prints and determine how to produce a part within Lozier manufacturing capabilities at the least cost. Ability to develop product cost information, labor and material for comparison purposes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Good basic drafting ability.
  • Good mathematical skills and knowledge of or ability to learn basic statistical applications.
  • Must be assertive and capable of making routine decisions independently.
  • Ability to develop proper time per product or process based on existing procedures and process documentation for use in capacity and space planning.
  • Ability to properly document Bills of Material and manufacturing processes.
  • Basic skill level in Autocad and/or inventor.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Excel.
