Job Overview
For over 60 years, our company has been the premier plastic machining company in California, specializing in custom plastic fabrication and servicing clients requiring precision-machined plastic parts. Our precision aerospace machine shop with ISO9001 & AS9100 certifications is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager / Cost Estimator . CNC Machining and Manufacturing Engineering experience is a must. The ideal candidate must have managerial experience with excellent communication skills, should be detail oriented and able to read SolidWorks / CAD drawings.
Job Duties:
Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing
Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates
Consult with vendors, customers, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Work with customers and staff to produce acceptable quotations
Perform closed job reviews
Seek vendors for specialized services, obtain costs and lead time for all outside process to support bid preparation
Develop nonrecurring costs (tooling / programming)
Position Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating or machine shop environment
3+ years of management experience
Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD software
Ability to read and clearly understand engineering drawings
Proficient computer skills, MS Office, especially Excel
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Must be a team player
Good interaction with the production team and management
Act as liaison between customer, engineers, subcontractors, internal production, and sales team.
GD&T knowledge
BS Degree in a related manufacturing discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Compensation:
This is a direct hire position offering $110,000/annually. Our benefits package includes group health and life insurance, vacation, holiday and sick pay, as well as 401k and Profit Sharing Plans.
