RESPONSIBILITIES As a Systems Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers doing product definition, product characterization/validation, collateral creation, competitive analysis, and strategic customer/sales support and training. You will work closely with industry leading customers as well as cross-functional Allegro team to develop leading edge magnetic position sensor solutions for Automotive, Industrial, and Consumer applications. The position calls for a motivated individual who is comfortable multi-tasking, managing a team, and completing projects with limited oversight. Job responsibilities: Establish and maintain yourself as a subject matter expert in the target customers and markets; our products and their applications; and the requirements for and value propositions of Allegro's products in automotive and industrial applications Work with strategic marketing personnel, lead the technical roadmap, champion the definition, realization, and customer acceptance of innovative new products that have a positive impact on the business Enhance capabilities of the team, strengthen the infrastructure and establish best practices for the system engineering team. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Systems Engineering team, including the prioritization of tasks and adherence to schedules, and ownership of the quality and quantity of the team's work products Create technical documents, reports, and compelling collateral to support marketing and sales efforts and solve customer problems Oversee the creation and delivery of customer and sales/FAE training; deploy personnel as needed to customer sites for pre- and post-sales support Establish the department budget and maintain compliance to it Honestly and fairly assess the performance of team members; set individual and team goals; mentor and guide your staff to ensure that best practices are being followed and that continuous improvement is taking place at the individual and team level Recruit and hire new System Engineers as needed Provide mentorship, guidance, and training opportunities to the System Engineers Align the efforts of the System Engineering team with Corporate and Business unit objectives. Other job duties as assigned Our customer base is globally diversified, and this position may involve some national and/or international travel. Your travel schedule will vary, but on average our Systems Engineering Managers travel two to four times a year. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS BSEE or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering; experience in magnetic sensors is preferred. 10 - 15 years of experience in applications or systems engineering for sensor ICs in semiconductor industry, preferably in a leadership role A solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, magnetics and magnetic modeling, EMC and familiarity with mixed signal semiconductors Experience with Matlab/Simulink and Labview expertise are is desirable. Good verbal and written commutation skills and ability to effectively deliver presentation at engineering and management levels. Strong lab skills, i.e., proficiency with laboratory procedures and equipment, e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, circuit debugging. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with automotive applications and/or functional safety/ASIL is highly desirable The successful candidate will possess a good balance of technical and business acumen, be comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. This is a high-visibility position within the company and the business unit. Candidates must have the ability to make clear technical presentations to colleagues, Allegro customers, and Allegro's senior management staff.
